We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, dynamic and creative Multiple Subjects Tutor to work with students in the East Bay in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Only applicants residing in the East Bay will be considered.

Essential Duties:​
-
Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in multiple subjects for children in grades Pre-K-6 (ages 4-12).
-
Travel to students for tutoring in person in the East Bay, providing tutoring and academic enrichment activities indoors and outdoors, at students' homes or community locations, such as libraries, parks, and schools
-
Tutor students online as needed
-
Punctually and reliably attend scheduled work hours, including training, meetings, and tutoring sessions
-
Assist students in mastering measurable goals in the following areas:
-
Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts (ELA)
-
Common Core State Standards for Mathematics
-
Executive functioning
-
-
Tutor in ELA applied to multiple subjects, such as informational text in science and social studies
-
Supervise and facilitate enrichment, extracurricular, and recreational activities, such as art and physical play
-
Provide executive function coaching, teaching children self-management, organization, time-management, etc.
-
Help children complete homework with increasing independence
-
Use principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) for skill acquisition and behavior management, such as prompting, prompt fading, and positive reinforcement based on student preferences and choices
-
Facilitate emergent curriculum and child-centered/student-centered, naturalistic, incidental, and play-based teaching and learning opportunities
-
Create structured learning opportunities where applicable
-
Engage students with a fun teaching style and high energy, creativity, adaptability, spontaneity, dynamism, and positivity
-
Communicate student progress with children’s parents/guardians and teachers where applicable
-
Record accurate, in vivo objective data on student progress
-
Participate in ongoing training, and apply all training and supervisor feedback
-
Follow oral and written directions
-
Keep work materials neat, organized, and in good working condition
-
Follow all health and safety requirements
-
Communicate work-related questions, problems and concerns to supervisor in a proactive and timely manner
-
Interact and communicate in a positive and professional manner with Inspire Behavioral Learning's customers, students, parents/guardians, staff, interns, volunteers, and community partners
-
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
-
Provide proof of your high school diploma or highest degree
-
Provide your academic transcripts (unofficial transcripts are permitted); must be in good standing
-
Demonstrate command of American English phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics
-
Minimum of one year experience teaching or tutoring elementary school age students in grades K-5 or K-6 (applications are automatically rejected without this requirement)
-
Experience teaching/tutoring and leading children both one-on-one and in groups
-
Experience teaching or tutoring culturally, linguistically, and developmentally diverse learners
-
Experience teaching/facilitating/leading extracurricular enrichment activities
-
Experience with effective and appropriate behavior management for children
-
Experience with child development and age-appropriate, grade-appropriate, developmentally appropriate activities
-
Must demonstrate care for children and a desire to help the whole child learn and grow in enjoyable ways, in addition to academic subject-matter competence
-
Pass a DOJ and FBI background check
-
Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination
-
Provide proof of a valid California driver license and automobile insurance
-
Your own reliable transportation to student locations in cities in the East Bay in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties (such as Berkeley, Oakland, Alameda, Castro Valley, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, etc.)

Eagerness and openness to continually learn and develop your skillset, no matter how extensive or minimal your experience

Excellent ability to break concepts down into simple and easy steps

Excellent time-management and organizational skills

Outstanding oral and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a tutoring team

Proficient with Google Workspace products (Google Drive, Google Meet, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, etc.) and quick to learn technology

Location: East Bay in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties and online, but this is not an online-only position

Classification: Non-exempt employee
​
Compensation: $19-$29/hour DOE
​
Hours: Part-time; most students are available M-F in afternoons and evenings only (3:00 PM-7:30 PM); Saturday hours are 9:00 AM-6:30 PM
